Vaccine appointments available for veterans, spouses and caregivers

| April 15, 2021 12:00 AM

All Montana veterans, veteran spouses and caregivers, and CHAMPVA recipients are now eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine from the Montana VA Health Care System.

Previously the system was calling or texting veterans as they became eligible to schedule a vaccine appointment. To schedule an appointment, veterans who are enrolled should call 877-468-8387 and select Option 2, and then Option 2. Non-enrolled veterans, their spouses, caregivers and CHAMPVA recipients will need to sign up online.

“We are excited to help bring COVID-19 vaccines to veterans’ family members and caregivers,” said MTVAHCS executive director Dr. Judy Hayman. “We’ve seen the peace of mind and security these vaccines have brought to Montana’s veterans, and we are happy we can help create safety from the pandemic in homes and communities across Montana.”

At this time, all upcoming MTVAHCS vaccine appointments will be for the two-dose Moderna vaccine. Second dose vaccine appointments will be scheduled at the time a person receives their first dose.

A vaccine clinic for these individuals only is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. April 27 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds Trade Building, 265 N. Meridian Road in Kalispell. Walk-in appointments are available, based on availability during those hours.
