Wolfpack Theatre stages funny, warm play celebrating life

| April 29, 2021 12:00 AM

Many of the important lessons of life are learned in childhood: Share everything. Be kind. Don’t hit people. Put things back where you found them. Say you’re sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you eat. Always flush.

The Wolfpack Theatre Company at Glacier High School will explore these lessons and many more in Robert Fulghum's funny and thoughtful play, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten." The show will be presented May 3 and 4 in the Wolfpack Theatre at GHS at 6:33 p.m.

Tickets, which are available at the GHS Main Office and at Photo Video Plus, are $7 for adults and $5 for children, students and senior citizens. Seating is limited and masks are required.

Offering an evening of theatrical storytelling with monologues and ensemble scenes, the show features colorful characters such as a man whose dream of flying carries him high over Los Angeles ... in a lawn chair buoyed by surplus weather balloons; a kindergarten class and its highly unusual production of “Cinderella”; a shy, little boy who insists on playing the "pig" in “Cinderella and steals the show; and a modern-day Greek philosopher who finds the meaning of life in a piece of broken mirror from World War II.

“This show is truly about valuing life and all it has to offer,” said director and GHS senior, Ashley Bruce, “These stories that are funny, engaging, thought-provoking and celebrate our very existence, from the whimsy of childhood to the wisdom of old age. This show is for everyone. There is humor and heartfelt moments … in every scene.”

This performance is produced by the Advanced Acting Ensemble class under the direction of Greg Adkins.

The cast includes Dresden Allred, Sydney Barcus, Ellie Eaton, Sydney Fletcher, Ash Green, Zach Hall, Mayleen Hoover, Elise Plum, Eden Shewalter and Ethan Strand.

The production crew includes Alexa Wilton, Lane McKoy, Jaiden Mallo, Jessalyn Hewitt, Kailie Owens, Elle Plum, Quinn Thomas, Bella AuClaire, Moira Macfarlane, Kassidy Murphy, Jauplin Young and Kjell Sandler.
