| August 1, 2021 12:00 AM

Patricia Murphy Sonstelie was born June 5, 1936, in Malta to Joseph and Lorraine Murphy.

She is survived by husband Dale, three sons Terrance Lee, Gary Duane, Timothy James, and two daughters Connie Sue and Shelley Lorraine; four sisters Monica, Jaqueline, Cathern and Pam, and one brother Michael; 10 grandchildren Terra, Dale, Rebecca, McKenzie, Dylan, Alan, Sheree, Mariah, Makayla and Jennifer, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Patricia was preceded in death by her father, mother, two sisters, Barbara Jean and Sharon Ann, and twin brothers James and Joseph.

Sadly, our community lost a pillar on July 22, 2021, when Mrs. Patricia Sonstelie passed away.

Her contributions to the lives of many were endless and embodied her giving nature. Patricia loved farming with her husband Dale in the Creston community over the course of their 51 years of marriage. She was a member of the Creston Auxiliary Fire Department and several other clubs where she actively enhanced her community.

Patricia loved sharing her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens with the Veterans Food Pantry, the Creston community and families in need.

She had many hobbies, which included oil painting, traveling abroad, snow skiing, golfing and hiking in Glacier National Park.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with, as well as those she reached but never met.

Friends and family, please come share your stories for Patricia's celebration of life on Aug. 8, at the Swan River Community Hall from 1 to 4 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please help continue her kindness, loyalty and compassion by making a donation to the Saint Joseph's Indian School; www.stjo.org/meals or call 800-341-2245.
