Polson couple featured in August at Phillips Studio
Phillips Studio & Gallery hosts a First Friday exhibit opening titled “Two For The Show” featuring the oil paintings of Polson artists David and Bobbie Hafer from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 6.
This is the Hafers’ second exhibit at the gallery. The couple have 46 new pieces of work in this presentation and is a testament to the resilience of these artists during the pandemic. They found a way in which it both reflects and responds to the unique circumstances of the times.
The Hafers find the beauty in Western Montana hard to exceed, with Glacier Park at their backdoor, Flathead Lake and surrounding areas that all keep them inspired. The couple started painting full time together in retirement and they paint together almost every day. They both paint realistic landscapes in oil. In addition, Bobbie also paints award-winning still life, florals and some portraits.
This exhibit encompasses each artist’s vision of the beauty that surrounds them in Montana. They both try to make the viewer imagine themselves in the environment of their paintings — breathing the air, observing nature, and marveling at the beauty in God’s creation.
The gallery is located in the Kalispell Center Mall, 20 N. Main St. in Kalispell. The “Two For The Show” exhibit will remain on view through Aug. 28. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Visit phillipsgallery.vpweb.com to view more of the Hafers’ work.
