Sandpiper Art Festival is Saturday in Polson
The 50th annual Sandpiper Art Festival takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug.14, on the Lake County Courthouse lawn, 106 Fourth Ave. E., in Polson.
Founded in 1971 and sponsored by the Sandpiper Art Gallery, a nonprofit organization, the popular, juried festival features fine art and artisan crafts, It takes place simultaneously with the annual Car Show (one block away). The festival offers live entertainment throughout the day and several onsite food and beverage vendors.
Browse the paintings, jewelry, clothing, pottery, fiber crafts, stained glass, bronzes, woodwork, photography and more while music plays and bagpipers hum, all while enjoying huckleberry ice cream and homemade lemonade.
Head to the river for blues and brews
The 12th annual Riverfront Blues Festival is this Saturday, Aug. 14, at Riverfront Park in Libby.
Enjoy a backdrop of the beautiful Kootenai River, along with blues, brews and barbecue.
Tickets at the gate are $30. Gates open at 11 a.m.
Music gets underway at 1 p.m. This year’s lineup includes Kerri Lick & the Good Kids, Sweetgrass Blues Band, Jay Snow & the ToneKeepers, Kara Grainger and Hector Anchondo. The concert concludes with an all-star jam from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Wine tasting gala benefits ATP programs
Alpine Theatre Project hosts Vino Sul Lago, a night of wine tasting and fundraising Aug. 18 at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. The celebration kicks off the 2021 Whitefish Wine Auction for the Arts, three days to benefit ATP's professional and educational programs. Tickets are $60 per person or $100 per couple.
