Vera June Burk, 94

| August 18, 2021 12:00 AM

In the early hours of Aug. 15, 2021, Vera June Burk went to join her boys in heaven.

Vera was born on June 26, 1927, in Hot Springs to Richard Taylor and Ludie Evans. Vera spent her childhood in her birthplace and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1946. Vera was the eldest child of Richard and enjoyed her youth with her sister and four brothers.

Vera met Albert Burk soon after graduation and they were married on Dec. 20, 1947. Vera and Al relocated to Olney where they had three children together, Steve, Stan and Patsy. Vera spent her career working at the Colonial Manor, caring compassionately for the elderly that lived there. She retired in the mid-’90’s.

Vera moved into the Whitefish Manor Apartments in 2001 where she made many great friends and created a whole other family. The time she spent there was probably her favorite time in life. She enjoyed playing games and attending gatherings. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose and enjoyed participating in all the activities.

Vera was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband Al Burk and her two sons Steve Burk and Stan Burk, as well as brothers Robert Taylor, Walter Taylor, Richard Taylor, Bill Taylor and sister Mary Crouch.

Vera is survived by her daughter Patsy (Ron) Anderson, grandkids Andy Anderson, Lena (Ben) Havron, Ryan (Jenny) Burk and Eric (Laci) Burk. She is also survived by her son’s widow Roxanne Burk and close friend and sister-in-law Norma Burk. Vera is also survived by five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday the 20th of August at 11 a.m. at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.

Austin Funeral and Cremation Services in Whitefish is caring for Vera’s family.
