Gary Gene Christianson, 85

Gary Gene Christianson passed on peacefully with the love of his life by his side on Aug. 19, 2021, at the age of 85.

Gary was born in Huron, South Dakota, on June 4, 1936. He attended Springfield Southern State Teachers College and received a degree in vocational woodworking. He retired from Flathead High School after 28 years with much love for each of his students.

Gary met Eleanor French at the age of 15 and married his hometown girl on June 9, 1957. He was a devoted and loving husband of 64 years and a father to five children, Kim Christianson, Sherry Keinath, Gina Claros, Gary Christianson Jr. and Tara Olson. He also has 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, as well as his sister, Kay Jean Oser, and many nieces and nephews. As a young father Gary was practicing his quick draw and shot himself in the leg. He was mad as heck because he wrecked his new cowboy boots and couldn’t play softball the next afternoon.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Melvin and Velma Rose Christianson.

Gary loved his wife, family and friends. Never goodbye - always see you later.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

We hope the heavens are full of fish to catch with the purest water you’ll ever see and touch; the mountains strong and proud and full of game to watch and hunt. May the forest be full of the trees you love; the tools for woodworking be powerful and sharp to build whatever your heart desires. May you and our loved ones hang out together and watch over us ‘till we meet again in the sky above. We love you and miss you! Gone, but not forgotten.
