Larry Anderson, 70

| August 22, 2021 12:00 AM

Larry Anderson passed away on Aug. 5, 2021, at his home in Lakeside.

Larry was born to Ervin and Jean Anderson on March 15, 1951, in San Francisco, the youngest of three sons.

He spent his youth exploring the streets of San Francisco. As a young teen he moved with his family to Kelso, Washington, where he developed his love for nature. As an adult he bought a farm in Toledo, Washington, where he proudly raised a herd of cattle and was involved with the Washington Backcountry Horsemen. Larry was a hard worker and spent his entire career as an electrician for Longview Fibre. At the age of 55 he retired and moved with his wife Marguerite (deceased) to Lakeside where he put down roots and made lifelong friends.

Larry was a very loving dad and grandfather. His family included his children John Anderson and Jill Anderson of Kelso, grandchildren Madison Mitchell, Donnia Reed and Jacob Anderson, and brothers Jeremiah Anderson (wife Margaret) and David Anderson (deceased).

Larry shared the last 10 years of his life with his partner and best friend Teresa DeStefano and lovingly embraced her family, Ursula, Chauncey, Rylin and Jasper Wilde. Larry also regarded dear friends Kabir Howaida and Dennis Wasley as family.

Larry was quick to make a friend, lend a helping hand, joke around, and share a story. He was a master of smalltalk, an environmental advocate, an animal “whisperer,” a lifelong learner, and a student of alternative medicine. He was as stubborn as he was loved.

Every Tuesday Larry could be found at the Tamarack in Lakeside sharing a beer and conversation with friends. Please join us at the Tamarack on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. for a beer, a toast, and a story.

He will be missed.
