WTC announces auditions for ‘Now And Then’

| August 26, 2021 12:00 AM

The Whitefish Theatre Company is holding auditions for its production of “Now and Then” Aug. 29 and 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish. Arrive early to fill out an audition application, waiver form, and review the script. Enter at the north side of the building. Due to the recent spike in Covid-19 cases, masks are highly recommended when you enter the building, although you will be able to remove them during your audition. Do not attend auditions if you are feeling sick.

Sometimes what happens after last call just might change your life. One night in 1981, just as Jamie is closing the bar where he works, a desperate last-minute customer offers him and his girlfriend Abby $2,000 to sit and have a drink with him. As the trio swaps stories and Jamie considers the decisions he faces about his musical career and his future with Abby, the young couple realize this older man is unusually invested in their choices ... and the reason he gives them is completely unbelievable.

“Now and Then” is a heartfelt romantic comedy about the costs of the choices we make, and the people who make them with us.

The cast will be comprised of one man and one woman, ages 20 to 30s, and one man and one woman, ages 50s and up. Pages from the script will be provided at the audition; it is also available at local public libraries.

Nick Rapp is the director. Rehearsals begin the week of Sept. 7 and will be

held Monday through Friday from 6 to 9 or 10 p.m. There are seven performances over two weekends, Oct. 14 to 17 and Oct. 21 to 23.
