Pedestrian killed on U.S. 2 in Evergreen

A pedestrian was stuck and killed in Evergreen on Wednesday evening, according to authorities investigating the incident.

A press release from the Flathead County Sheriff's Office states that a man was hit by a vehicle on U.S. 2 north of Reserve Drive at about 6:30 p.m. The pedestrian died at the scene, and the driver that hit the man was uninjured.

The Flathead County coroner has not yet determined the identity of the victim, who is believed to be in his 30s or 40s. His body was sent to the Montana State Crime Lab for an autopsy.

The crash is under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
