Dale Lee Walter, 77

Dale Lee Walter, 77, of Kalispell, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, with his daughter Deborah Walter by his side.

He was born July 10, 1944, in Kalispell to Ollie and Eleanor Walter. He graduated from Flathead County High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon completion of his service, he worked for, and retired from, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff.

Dale was married to the love of his life, Darlene Combs, for 32 years. They had three children, Doug, Dennis and Deborah “DJ.”

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wilbur Walter; his two sons, Doug and Dennis; and ex-wife, Darlene.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Walter, of Montana; grandsons, Kyle Walter of Pennsylvania and Peyton of Missouri; great-granddaughter, Vienna, of Pennsylvania; and best friend, Nancy, of Washington. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping and hanging out with friends and family. He will be remembered for his audacious sense of humor and compassionate personality.

Per Dale’s request, no funeral service will be held.
