Law roundup: Man mistakenly reports elderly neighbor

| December 10, 2021 12:00 AM

After a robbery, neighbors were advised to call law enforcement if they saw any vehicles coming down a dead-end road. As a result, a 90-year-old neighbor got reported to the Columbia Falls Police Department, but he was not involved in the crime.

A house on Tamarack Lane in Columbia Falls was burgled after the homeowner seemed to be absent for two weeks.

A white pickup truck went off Hilltop Road and into some brush.

A man allegedly jumped out of his wife’s car, broke the side door and tried to break the back window.

A woman apparently stole another woman’s rent check in September. The suspect reportedly used white-out to cover up the intended recipient’s name and put her name fraudulently in its place.

A car traveling with another vehicle was intentionally spinning out, according to a caller.

An aunt was allegedly “being mean” to her nephew.

A gate was left open at a construction site.

Someone in a park after hours was advised of the park hours and asked to move along.

A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office because she “found out about some stolen tools and a stolen vehicle.” No further information was reported.

A Bigfork man complained about his neighbor’s dogs barking; it apparently has been a problem over the past two years.

Another Bigfork resident said a woman was allowed to stay on her property for the summer, but the woman had started to refuse to leave.

A Kalispell man who was “having issues with a female” called the police for suggestions.
