Kalispell man charged with partner assault for 3rd time
A convicted criminal with a track record of partner assault was arrested again last week following an alleged attack in Kalispell.
Douglas Wayne Hammons, 55, was being held in the Flathead County Detention Center on a felony charge of partner or family member assault. His bail is set at $75,000.
Court documents state that on Dec. 11, Kalispell Police Department officers responded to a home on Farview Drive after dispatch received a call from a woman who sounded very frightened. When police arrived on the scene they reported hearing a man yelling.
According to police, Hammons opened the door and shouted, “Get this [expletive] out of my house.”
The victim told officers she was asleep and awoke to Hammons punching and elbowing her, and yelling at her to leave.
The charging document notes that Hammons was convicted of partner or family member assault in 1996 and 1997, and was convicted of aggravated assault in 1998 and burglary in 2008.
His next court date is set for Jan. 5. If convicted he faces up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
