Law roundup: Time for hooky bobbin’ and doughnuts

A woman and her kids were allegedly almost hit by one of five vehicles spinning doughnuts in the mall parking lot. The woman told Kalispell Police Department kids were also “hooky bobbing (holding onto vehicle bumpers while on a sled)." The drivers were counseled.

Someone allegedly prevented a man’s supermarket sweep when they chased him down after he left a store with a cart full of stolen groceries and retrieved the goods. The man also left his cell phone behind.

Dispatchers may have been privy to a breakup when they answered a 911 call and heard someone say, “Not going to work out anymore,” and, “Do what you need to do,” then the line disconnected.

A woman allegedly drove her Winnebago over a concrete berm, which was dragging behind the vehicle. She pulled over and a tow truck was called.

A woman who reportedly shoplifted groceries on a previous day had returned to the scene of the crime to do some more “shopping.”

A woman in her 40s went to the checkout line, however, she reportedly kept five items in her purse. A manager wanted officers to kick her off the property if they made contact.

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious man knocking on the doors of elderly women in Kalispell.

Three trucks were allegedly racing through Kalispell and almost ran over a woman walking her dog. She thought one of the trucks hit a house too.

Someone found a timid young dog wearing a cone and a shock collar in Kalispell.

A Bigfork resident was concerned a vehicle left on their property during the night was stolen because the steering column was torn apart.

Someone reportedly broke into a resident’s Columbia Falls garage by busting open the door, which set off an alarm.

A Lakeside woman’s neighbor was allegedly shooting cats with a pellet gun and the pellets were hitting her house and leaving holes in addition to cracking a window. She said it was an ongoing issue.

A Kalispell woman claimed a mail carrier threw boxes in the snow after her husband asked him to leave them in front of the garage instead of by the porch. She said it was an ongoing issue and that he also reportedly drove recklessly out of their driveway and swore at her when she asked for his name.
