Patricia L. (Farris) Bjornstad, 84

Patricia “Pat” Bjornstad was born March 6, 1937, to Forest and Margaret Farris in Kalispell.

Pat passed away unexpectedly Dec. 12, 2021, from complications from surgery. Pat grew up in Kalispell and attended elementary school at Russell School. She graduated from Flathead in 1955. She attended Montana State University briefly before her marriage to Joe Bjornstad. They resided in Whitefish for 25 years enjoying what was then a small recreational community. Her marriage ended in divorce, and she moved to Kalispell. Pat worked at the Flathead Treasurer’s office in vehicle registration and property taxation department for many years, retiring June of 1999.

She was proud of her three children, Susan, Mark and Shari, and their accomplishments. She enjoyed family gatherings and kept us laughing. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a glisten in her eyes.

Pat was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, in-laws and nephews. She is survived by her children, Susan Hruza (Steve) of Whitefish, Mark Bjornstad (Tammy) of Kalispell, and Shari Goodmanson (Dan) of Missoula; siblings Harold Farris (JoAnn), Marilyn Johnson (Bill), and Roberta Thomas. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Grayson.

Per her request, there will be no funeral services. A celebration of friends and family will take place at a later date. Have a glass of wine, hold it high and have a good laugh. That is what Pat wanted.
