Donna Jean Sterner, 79

Donna Jean Sterner passed away Dec. 11, 2021, of cancer at the age of 79. She died peacefully at her home in Kalispell with her husband Harvey by her side. She was preceded in death by her parents Opal and Fred O'Neal.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Harvey.

Donna was born an only child Jan. 28, 1942, to Fred and Opal O'Neal in Tulare, California. She spent her early childhood in California until the family moved to Junction City, Oregon, where she attended school through the eighth grade. The family later moved to Renton, Washington, where Donna graduated from high school. She worked for several years at many different companies as a receptionist, secretary and bookkeeper. She met Harvey Sterner on a blind date in 1972 and they were later married on April 7, 1973. They bought a house in Kent, Washington, and lived there until Donna's parents passed away. They both decided they wanted to move to the Flathead Valley where Harvey grew up. They were thrilled to be out of the big city and loved life in the Flathead. Donna enjoyed furnishing and decorating her house, growing flowers in her garden, and thoroughly loved all her family and friends.

A private service and burial took place Dec. 16 at Glacier Memorial Gardens in Kalispell.
