WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT CONTRACTOR PRE-QUALIFICATION The City of Whitefish is accepting Pre-Qualifications from General Contractors interested in bidding on the Whitefish, MT Spokane Ave. Watermain Replacement Project. It is mandatory that all General Contractors who intend to submit bids for the project complete the Pre-Qualification package and be approved by The City of Whitefish. The project generally consists of municipal water system improvements along Spokane Avenue (Hwy 93) from 2nd Street to 13th Street in Whitefish, MT. Approximately 3,750 LF of 18" C900 PVC water main is to be installed under Spokane Avenue replacing existing water mains. The new main will tie-in to the existing water distribution system in several locations. Existing residential and commercial water services will be reconnected to the new water main. Sidewalks and curb will be removed and replaced at several intersections to meet current ADA requirements. Multiple fire hydrants will also be replaced. Horizontal directional drilling will be required for some water service connections. Services of a licensed arborist will be required to mitigate damage to existing trees along the project corridor. The Owner will procure some of the required materials prior to construction including the 18" water main pipe, fire hydrants, and various appurtenances that will be listed in the project bid documents.
