Rosa 'Rose' Lee L. (Cramer) Behrens

Rosa “Rose” Lee L. (Cramer) Behrens, 92, of Kalispell peacefully passed away at home on Dec. 23, 2021.

Rose was born in Ronan on Nov. 11, 1929, to Oscar E. Cramer and Dorothy V. Cramer. Rose was the second of four children. As a small child, she moved to Kalispell with her parents, where she lived most of her life and raised her daughter, Terry Learn.

Rose worked as a switchboard operator as a young woman for many years. Later, she worked at the Kalispell Police Department where she retired.

Rose met and married Harold “Jack” Behrens later in life, they were married for 19 years until his passing in 2007. They enjoyed traveling, camping and visiting friends at Sykes together.

Rose had a big heart and a very soft spot for all animals, especially her dog Timmy. She enjoyed working in her flower beds but most of all she loved huckleberry picking, something she had done since she was young. Even at the age of 92, she talked about huckleberry picking. Rose had many wonderful and interesting stories from her long life on this earth that were enjoyed by many family and friends. She was full of life and loved her family very much.

Rose was preceded in death by parents Oscar E. Cramer and Dorothy V. Cramer; sisters Doris Cramer and Hazel Hill; and husband Harold “Jack” Behrens.

Rose is survived by daughter Terry Learn; sister Shirley Sutton; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home with burial afterward at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
