A male juvenile suspected of stealing a truck was arrested by Kalispell Police officers Sunday night after a chase that ended west of town.
According to information from the city of Kalispell, at about 10:30 p.m. Sunday, a Kalispell Police sergeant attempted to stop a silver Ford F-150 pickup truck near East Idaho Street and Second Avenue North East.
The truck fled and a pursuit began with the vehicles traveling west on Idaho Street, then on U.S. 2 west. During the chase, Kalispell Police officers were notified of a stolen vehicle report identifying a male juvenile as the suspect in a vehicle matching the description of the one officers were pursuing.
With the added information and the ability to apprehend the suspect at a later time, the sergeant stopped the chase in order to reduce the danger to citizens, police officers and the suspect.
Kalispell Police officers later arrested the driver, who had fled on foot. The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office assisted and the incident remains under investigation.
