Kalispell man identified in fatal wreck

A Kalispell man died recently after suffering injuries in a two-vehicle accident last month in the Somers area.

According to Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino, the man was identified as Larry Wayne Saksa, 78.

Saksa was driving a 1993 Chevy Astro Van south on North Somers Road at about 11:38 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, when he failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a 2019 GMC Terrain driving west on Montana 82, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

Saksa was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center and died Feb. 18.

The driver of the GMC is a 23-year-old Bigfork man and a passenger in the vehicle is a 23-year-old Columbia Falls woman. Both were injured and taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

All three people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts. Road conditions were described as wet during the wreck.

Alcohol, drugs or speed were not believed to be factors in the crash.
