Columbia Falls hoopsters win pair from Loggers

LIBBY — Cade Morgan scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers, and the Columbia Falls made a third-quarter lead hold up for a 61-52 boys’ basketball win over Libby Friday.

Allec Knapton scored 12 points and Alihn Anderson added another 10 for the Wildcats, who led 42-29 heading into the final eight minutes.

The Loggers’ Ryder Davis poured in 10 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, but Libby couldn’t catch the ‘Cats. TJ Anderson led the Loggers with 15 points.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Maddie Robison had 14 points, Hannah Schweikert scored 13 and Columbia Falls built a big early lead on the way to beat Northwestern A foe Libby Friday.

Thirteen Wildkats played and 10 of them scored; Madysen Hoerner had seven blocks to go with five points.

“I liked the effort on the defensive end and the way we shared the ball tonight,” said Cary Finberg, coach for Columbia Falls (2-0, 1-0 in league).

Olivia GIlliam-Smith led Libby, which trailed 42-8 at halftime, with seven points.
