C-Falls JV edges Stillwater girls

COLUMBIA FALLS - Grace Gedlaman scored 14 points and Hope McAtee tallied 10 of her 12 in the first half as Columbia Falls’ junior varsity held off Stillwater Christian 44-37 in girls’ basketball Tuesday.

McAtee’s points helped stake the Wildkats to a 25-14 halftime lead. They held on despite missing 17 of 30 free throws.

Stillwater’s Madison Morken tied Gedlaman for game scoring honors with 14. Sophia Sulzbacher scored seven points after halftime and finished with nine.

Harlie Roth scored 20 points and Celie Vandenbosch chipped in 10 as the Flathead Bravette sophomores downed Stillwater Christian on Monday night.

The Cougars led 38-34 after three quarters, but the Bravettes scored 17 points in the final frame.

Marae Tintzman led the Cougars with 15 points, including 5-for-6 from the free throw line. Madison Morken added 14.

Luke Frampton scored 20 points to lead the Stillwater Christian Cougars past the Flathead JV on Monday.

The Cougars had four players hit double figures in the victory — Dominic Demario (13), Blake Prewett (10) and Caleb Cole-Tinkham (10).

Connor Phillips and Gavin Chouinard paced the Braves, with 16 and 12 points, respectively.
