T.F. Ted Smith, 82

T.F. Ted Smith, 82, passed away Jan. 14, 2021, at Hidden Meadows in Columbia Falls.

Ted was born Feb. 24, 1937, in Colgan, North Dakota, and attended high school in Crosby, North Dakota.

In 1958 he married Judy Knudson and they just celebrated 62 years of marriage.

He was a shipping clerk at Plum Creek Plywood from 1967 until 1982, when he bought a truck and drove over the road. Many years were spent building roads. He moved to Great Falls at that time and remained there until 2018 when he moved to Rising Mountain Assisted Living in Bigfork.

His greatest achievements were his years in the Flathead County Sheriff’s Posse, ambulance driver for Columbia Falls Ambulance Association, and his many students in the Hunters Safety program, also in Columbia Falls.

He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Lori (Wes) Parker of Bigfork, sons Wayne (Sherry) of Columbia Falls, and Tim (Diane) of Columbia Falls. Also surviving are grandsons Mike (Kat) Parker and Kyle Parker of Bigfork, Seth Piiloa of Columbia Falls, and numerous grandchildren and stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mom and dad, Petra and Tiddles Smith, brothers Allan and Edward Smith and their wives, and niece Claudia Dakin.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for the family.
