Barbara 'Kay' Lewis, 64

| July 1, 2021 12:00 AM

Barbara “Kay” Lewis (née Bush) of Bigfork, was born Jan. 12, 1957, in Pontiac, Michigan. On June 26, 2021, in Kalispell, she succumbed peacefully to frontal temporal dementia after defeating stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma several years previously. She was strong and courageous throughout her life and never more so than in the end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Kathlyn Bush (née Schram).

Surviving Kay are her longtime partner Edmund “Ed” Langlois, daughter Maranda Johnson (née Irwin) (Michael), grandchildren Everest and Finn Johnson, siblings Mary Bush, Susan Bush, Jane Bush, John Bush (Diane) (née Goodrich), and Becky Rauser (Bush) (Dave), and John's son Ryan. Kay loved the Lord, her family and friends. She was happiest when she was in the mountains riding her horse, camping with Ed. She loved Montana and their Rocky Mountains. She was a longtime member of the Backcountry Horsemen. She was a successful real estate agent in the Flathead Valley for many years.

Kay is gone before us now, leading us to God where she found him at the Chinese Wall, the Jewel Basin and other places in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. We loved Kay dearly, we will miss her terribly, but remember her sweet smile, her laugh. We will hold her always close to our hearts and our grief will be softened by our memories of her and knowing she is at peace. We are grateful for the time she shared with us.

Please join members of Kay’s family in sharing a celebration of her life at the Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home on Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m.
