The Glacier Symphony and Chorale is providing free car passes to Symphony Night at Rebecca Farm to the volunteers and staff of the Flathead City-County Health Department for their service to local communities during the pandemic.

Guidance from the Health Department was invaluable to the GSC staff in navigating a performance season during a global pandemic.

“The Glacier Symphony is delighted that we can make car passes available to the incredible people who helped us so much during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mark Holston, the new president of the GSC board of directors. “The staff and volunteers of the Flathead City-County Health Department worked tirelessly and at some risk to their personal safety to keep our community safe. We hope many of them will be in the audience at our annual Rebecca Farm pops concert to relax in this lovely setting and enjoy what has become one of the Flathead’s premier summer concerts.”

After a necessary cancellation of the popular concerts last year, this year’s event is on track to have record-setting attendance.

Health Officer Joe Russell was delighted when approached by Bill Burg, a member of the Flathead City-County Board of Health and a GSC former board member and GSC staff about the car passes. “This is the greatest way I can think of to recognize those volunteers who ran our vaccination clinics at the fairgrounds and our staff who dedicated so much of their time and energy selflessly during the pandemic. They more than deserve an evening of relaxation and music under the Big Sky.”

Symphony Night at Rebecca Farm will take place at Rebecca Farm July 9 and 10. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Car passes are available from the office by calling 406-407-7000 until close of business on July 2. Passes can also be purchased online through July 4 at glaciersymphony.org. The cost is $45 per car load if purchased in advance and $55 at the gate on the evening of the concert.
