Law roundup: Crew takes their chaos on the road

| July 1, 2021 12:00 AM

A passerby reportedly saw a man chase another with a tire and a smaller green truck sped off with two people inside. The passerby said one of the men had been throwing the others' belongings all over the road. The hoopla didn’t end there however, when a man in a plaid shirt and a woman in a pink shirt began hitting another man near a gas station on Seventh Avenue.

A man on an electric bicycle was purportedly “playing chicken” with oncoming traffic.

A vehicle hit a tree in a yard and rolled over. The driver allegedly said he was OK, but he couldn’t get out of the vehicle. A detention center refused to take the man until he was cleared by medical personnel, so he was taken to the hospital.

Something hit a fence and a large orange traffic cone was left behind.

Someone on East California Street allegedly located the source of a plume of smoke to a fire in a transient camp in a park. The person told officers people had also been “hollering” at each other all day and was willing to guide them to the location because it was tricky to find.

A desperate resident alleged a man was playing really loud music in the parking lot; it was an ongoing issue; they had talked to management in the past but not this night and they didn’t need contact from police but wanted “somebody to come over here and tell him to shut up.” Everything was quiet when officers arrived, however, the resident called later, claiming it was quiet because “it was between songs.” The man told officers he was doing work in the parking lot and would try to keep it down.

A motorcycle was spinning brodies and flinging rocks onto someone’s van on an ongoing basis.
