Matthew Nathan Ross completed his earthly journey June 6, 2021, at the age of 39.

Matthew was born June 23, 1981, in Kalispell to Bob and Marria Ross. He attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Flathead High School in 2000. Matthew grew up exploring the woods and meadows near his home in Shelter Valley, south of Kalispell. He enjoyed hunting and summer weekends with his family on Bitterroot Lake, boating, skiing and fishing. He was a member of Faith Covenant Presbyterian Church.

In 2001, Mathew moved to Hanford, California, where he worked as a caregiver. In 2004 he returned to Kalispell. He worked in various construction jobs and as a caregiver for Flathead Industries. In 2013 Matthew moved into Immanuel Lutheran Skilled Nursing where he was loved by both residents and staff.

He is survived by his grandmother, JoAnne Ross of Kalispell, his father Bob Ross and wife Margaret of Granger, Texas, brother Paul and his wife Amy, children Laura, and Jacob of Sioux Center, Iowa, sister AnneMare Poynter, husband Sean and son Connor of Missoula, and brother Ian, his wife Emily and daughter Kyrianna, of Peshastin, Washington. He also had many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother Marria, and his grandfather Robert W. Ross.

Matthew and his glowing smile will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we take comfort in knowing that because of the grace of Jesus Christ and Matthew’s faith in the resurrection that he is no longer limited by his earthly body.

The family would like to thank Matthew’s caregivers at Immanuel and hospice for the excellent care he received.

A service of remembrance will be held July 18 at 3 p.m. at Faith Covenant Church, located at 611 3rd Ave E., Kalispell.

Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Foundation, The Huntington’s Disease Society of America, or Gideon’s International.

Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home of Kalispell.
