Dennis ‘Denny’ Dean Lockhart

Dennis “Denny” Dean Lockhart was born in 1945 to Dean and Geneva Lockhart.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; children Douglas, Tamara, Brian, and Kevin, stepchildren Lucy and Jeff; sister Marilee; multiple grandchildren; great-grandchildren; extended family and many friends.

Denny grew up in the lower valley on the Lockhart family farm, going to Demersville School, and enjoying time on Foys Bend on the Flathead River. He graduated from Flathead High School followed by enlisting into the National Guard. He spent a brief time at the Mountain Logger Factory, followed by a career at the post office. He loved spending time with family, friends, telling stories, snow-catting, camping, volunteering for the Evergreen Fire Department and working at their fair booth. He was president of the Flathead Snowmobile Association for several years and was an advocate for grooming and public land access. Denny passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 1, 2021.

There will be a celebration of life for Denny on Friday July 9 from 4-7 p.m. at Vista Linda. Come enjoy a cold Keystone, good food, and share some great stories with us.
