Montana rolls out online economic report

Montana’s Business Economic Report is now live, providing a portal for data about key indicators of economic health in Montana.

Looking at Montana’s business landscape over the last decade, the report provides detailed information such as the total number of active businesses each year, the number of new businesses registered each year, and a heat map highlighting where new businesses are being created in Montana.

“This new report will allow business owners to follow trends and make comparisons year over year. The report also highlights the first six months of 2021, which shows a significant increase in new businesses starting in Montana,” according to Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen.

The new Montana Business Economic Report, which will be updated annually, can be found on the Secretary of State’s website at https://sosmt.gov/economic-report/.

The Business Services Division also launched a new shopping cart feature to the online filing system, which allows customers to file and pay for multiple documents in one transaction.
