Symphony Night combines picnics and music

Glacier Symphony’s Symphony Night at Rebecca Farm pops concerts in July combine summer picnics and music into one event.

The Symphony Night at Rebecca Farm takes place on two consecutive evenings, Friday and Saturday, July 9 and 10, at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for the picnic experience to begin.

Attendees can bring a blanket to spread out on the grass or reserve a picnic table. While folks can bring their own food and drink, several food trucks will also be at the event, including Glacier Gourmet, Norms News, NW Island Noodles, Wagyu Wagon, Bias Brewing, and SunRift Beer Company.

Performing under their signature saddle tent, the Glacier Symphony under the baton of Maestro John Zoltek will present a program of classic orchestra pops and light classical music.

This year the theme is “Pops Americana” and the program contains recognizable tunes by composers such as Copland, Dvorak and Grofe’, plus popular patriotic favorites.

Also on the program will be Maestro Zoltek’s Going to the Sun, a work composed in 2008 for the 75th anniversary of the celebrated Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park.

Tickets are either unreserved by the carload, or a limited number of those picnic tables that seat eight people can be reserved, either open-air or under a tented area.

“We are thrilled to be able to begin to perform for live audiences once again and be back at Rebecca Farm for this signature summer event,” says Maestro Zoltek. “Bring your blanket, stadium chairs, family and friends for what promises to be a deliciously fun evening.”
