Kalispell woman dies in crash on U.S. 2

An 81-year-old Kalispell woman died in a traffic accident Friday morning.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, the woman was driving a 1992 Chevy Lumina when she attempted to make a left turn from Sager Lane onto U.S. 2 and her vehicle was struck by a Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by a 55-year-old man from Proctor.

The woman was taken to Logan Health Medical Center, where she died. The woman was wearing a seat belt. The man driving the tractor-trailer was not injured. The highway patrol did not identify either driver.

There was no suspicion of excessive speed, alcohol or drugs in the crash.
