Ada Louise (Lust) Johnson, 90

Ada Louise (Lust) Johnson passed away at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell on July 10, 2021.

She was born on Jan. 31, 1931, to George and Lydia Lust, and grew up in a log house in the Birch Grove Community north of Kalispell.

She attended Birch Grove School and Flathead County High School. At the University of Montana, where she majored in biology, Ada met Bruce Johnson, of Homestead, Montana. They were married on June 5, 1952, and lived in Medicine Lake, Montana. Their son Clifton was born in 1954. The family moved to Helena, where Doreen was born in 1955. The Johnsons moved to Kalispell in 1957, where Bruce taught chemistry at Flathead County High School, and Ada taught kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School.

Ada was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Community Concert Association, and the American Association of University Women.

From 1966 to 1970, the family lived in Santa Barbara, California, where Ada taught preschool and kindergarten. In 1970, Bruce and Ada moved back to Kalispell for good. Ada taught kKindergarten, first and second grades at Trinity Lutheran School. She retired from teaching in 1996.

She volunteered at Immanuel Lutheran Home and made many beautiful quilts. Ada touched many lives in her time on this earth, including her students at Trinity Lutheran School, the congregations of the churches she attended, and

the staff and residents of Immanuel Lutheran Home.

She is survived by her children Clifton Earl Johnson and Doreen (Johnson) Ridenour, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church at 10: a.m. on July 24.
