Authorities ID woman who died in Evergreen traffic crash

Authorities have released the name of a Kalispell woman who died last Friday in a traffic accident in Evergreen.

According to Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino, Florence Huntley, 81, was driving a 1992 Chevy Lumina when she attempted to make a left-hand turn from Sager Lane onto U.S. 2 when her vehicle was struck by a Kenworth dump truck hauling an excavator driven by a 55-year-old man from Proctor.

Huntley died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.

The man driving the tractor-trailer was not injured.

There was no suspicion of speed, alcohol or drugs in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
