David R. Young, 80

David R. Young, 80, of Eureka, passed away July 11, 2021.

He was born Sept. 7, 1940, in Libby to Jack and Elva (Ridgeway) Young. David married Jerry Haas on June 18, 1960. They had one son, David (Davey).

He started working for Royal Logging in 1965. In 1982, David received an award for one million miles accident free.

David was preceded in death by their son, Davey, on Nov. 6, 2016; wife, Jerry, in December 2017; and a brother, Pat.

David is survived by a granddaughter, Lacey Mae McEwen (Kris); two great-grandsons; brother, George; sister-in-law, Lila Ankerich (Ranny); brother-in-law, Robert Haas (Mary); nieces, Carol Duval (Jim) and Cathy Bauer (John); and other nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at the First & Last Saloon in Eureka from 2- to p.m. Saturday, July 31.
