Shawn Randall Jordan, 61

| July 25, 2021 12:00 AM

Shawn Randall Jordan was born Nov. 28, 1958, in Britton, South Dakota, to parents Henry “Hank” and Twila A. Jordan. He was the second of five children.

He died of heart problems in the early morning hours of March 23, 2020.

The family moved back to Wyoming when he was 9 months. The family moved to Kalispell in 1968 when he was 9 years old where he finished grade school and graduated from Flathead High School in 1977.

He grew up on a farm and started work as a mechanic at Day Equipment during high school working on farm equipment. He later became self- employed doing the same thing. It was said he was the best baler mechanic in the valley back in the day. In 2000 he moved to Marana, Arizona, where he worked on big machinery. Much of his job entailed working in copper mines on mining equipment over the next 20 years. Before leaving the valley he also worked at Parson’s Tractor, and in Arizona he worked at Nauman Hobbs and then Ardolds.

Shawn always tried to make it home for his class reunions and generally was home for a week or two every summer, to see his family and friends. He loved motorcycles and in his younger years he and his friends would ride their Harleys to Sturgis. He loved people and made friends easily everywhere. He had many friends in Montana and Arizona. He tried to see as many as he could when he came home every year.

Shawn was always ready, willing and able to help everyone, build a house, fix a car (He preferred working on big equipment over cars) or to help with anything else anyone needed. He loved to hand out guardian angel visor clips to friends, family and acquaintances. It seems he always had a few on hand for those he thought were in need.

Shawn worked hard his whole life, even with the back problems he had from childhood, it never stopped him. He did go in and get shots the last few years in his back and knees to be able to work.

He is dearly missed by his mother, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many wonderful special friends.

Shawn was predeceased by his father Henry Jordan in 1991, his grandparents, an aunt, uncles and three cousins.

Shawn is survived by mother Twila Jordan, brothers Aaron (Maria) Jordan and Steven Jordan, sisters JoEllen (Rocky) Williams and Valerie (Perry) Topp, along with two nieces, 12 nephews and six stepnieces and stepnephews, many great-nieces and -nephews, and many cousins.

Shawn also has a son Ben Osborn and wife Melody, along with four grandchildren; in addition, a very special couple he viewed as his kids also, Matt and Deann Smith and their son Gunther.

There will be a memorial/celebration of life service for Shawn on Saturday, July 31, at 11 a.m. The service will be held at the Epworth Methodist Church in Kalispell, 329 2nd Ave. East. The service will be followed by food including a taco/taco salad bar in the church basement.

If you want to make a donation in his memory, his favorite charity was St Jude’s to help children.
