Yuri Ricardo Lolong, 39

Yuri Ricardo Lolong passed away on May 18, 2021, in Indonesia. A sudden illness took his life in a day.

Yuri was born on Sept. 21, 1981, in Jakarta, Indonesia, and in 1990s Yuri immigrated to America with his family landing first in San Francisco and then in Kalispell where he attended Evergreen Elementary School and Evergreen Junior High School. He spoke often of the memories and friends he made in Evergreen. Yuri finished high school in San Francisco where he graduated. Yuri chose to move back to Indonesia permanently after the death of his beloved mother in San Francisco on Feb. 3, 2014.

In Indonesia, Yuri live with his aunts and cousin in Manado, North Sulawesi. Soon after he moved to Jakarta, he met Esther Mey Anggraeni, the love of his life, and on Feb. 5, 2019, he married her. To this union was born a daughter on May 13, 2020, Zanna Yumei Elizabeth Lolong and stepson Nathan Arya.

Yuri was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Kambey.

He is survived by his father, Richard Lolong, of San Francisco; and aunt, Christine Marshall, of Tulare California; four brothers, Bastian and Yana and son Albert of Jakarta, Indonesia, Samuel and Carline and daughter Ellena of Bogor, Indonesia, Ilya and Kasia and daughter Farrah of Montreal, Quebec, Berry Lolong and son Kaden of San Francisco; and his only sister, Merry “Mei” Tripp and Bill and daughters Julie, Elly, Nella and Anna; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins in Indonesia.

Yuri was buried at Esther’s family cemetery in Jombang, East Java Indonesia, just a temporary place on his way to heaven. The plan for the memorial service for Yuri will be later this summer dependent on pandemic regulation in San Francisco.
