Jimmie J. Blickenstaff, 74

Jimmie J. Blickenstaff, 74, passed away June 1, 2021, with his wife by his side at Kalispell Regional Medical Center and hospice care.

Jimmie was born in Hagerstown, Maryland, the son of Anna Mary and Joseph M. Blickenstaff. He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1964 and attended classes at Hagerstown Junior College. He went to work for Mack trucks. In 1966 he enlisted in the Navy where he became an electrician aboard a ship and was honorably discharged from the Navy.

While in the service he married Sue Bartles July 27, 1968. They went all through school together and later reunited and spent 53 wonderful years together.

After the Navy Jimmie went back to work for Mack Trucks in Hagerstown as a machine repairman and worked there for 37 years until he retired in 2001

Jimmie was a loving and devoted husband to his wife and will be missed. He enjoyed many years vacationing in Montana with his wife before retiring here and making Montana his home. Jimmie loved to go boating, fishing, hunting, and enjoyed woodworking. He could fix anything. He also enjoyed fishing trips and spending time with friends and family. He was also active in the Bigfork Gun Club for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Blickenstaff, and sister JoAnn Schaeffer.

He is survived by his wife Sue, brother Dr. Jay Blickenstaff (Carol) of Clear Spring, Maryland; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he cherished, and he loved them all.

Jimmie wished to be cremated and not to have any formal services.
