Law roundup: Videos could hurt woman’s influencer career

| March 20, 2021 12:00 AM

A woman called the Kalispell Police Department after a falling out with another woman, who proceeded to make “negative Youtube videos about her.” The woman, who was not named in the videos, said “this will affect her social media presence and her career as an ‘influencer.’” She was informed “no crime [had] occurred.”

A woman explained she “had to urinate and went to the garbage cans” behind a pizza place. There, she found a pair of underwear, and she told the police she wanted them to know about her find.

An elderly man allegedly was driving erratically in a grocery store parking lot. The man, who appeared to be intoxicated, reportedly screamed at passersby and hit the caller in the face. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

An employee at a business called the police because he saw a man become sick to his stomach outside the business. The man was apparently drinking vodka, and he was forbidden from returning to the property.

A fraudster used a man’s name and information from his company to steal almost $1,400 from the victim’s bank account.

Someone else apparently stole more than $2,000 from an ex’s account after they broke up and the woman kicked the alleged thief out of her residence.

A man wanted his wife to leave his residence because she was intoxicated. He said she wasn’t being disorderly, and the couple was still together, he “just [didn’t] want her there.”

A man reported a female motorist for “driving erratically.” He said he approached her in the parking lot of a casino and she promised she “would drive better next time.” The man, unsatisfied, asked the police to check on her. They found the vehicle legally parked and unoccupied.

A woman heard a man at a bus stop call for help while lying on the ground, possibly out of the reach of his cane, so she called 911. It turned out the prone man did “not need any assistance from law enforcement.”
