| March 28, 2021 12:00 AM

Kitty Lee Kirby, age 69, of Kalispell, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021, after a long-fought battle with breast cancer.

She was born on Dec. 18, 1951, in Evanston, Illinois to Serwin and Jane Pusczewicz. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Downey, California, where Kitty graduated from Warren High School in 1970.

During high school Kitty worked several service jobs and briefly dated Dennis Kirby. They renewed their relationship in 1970, leading to marriage on Feb. 12, 1972. Kitty and Dennis lived in Huntington Beach, California where she worked as a telephone operator until they relocated to Kalispell. She then worked at the local phone company for ten years and for the US Forest Service in several positions.

Some of her favorite hobbies were pottery, painting, and gardening. She was a devoted believer in her Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the Spokane Healing Rooms, where she would spend time praying for others even after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She was known to strike up a conversation with anyone who was willing to take the time.

Kitty is preceded in death by her parents Serwin and Jane Pusczewicz.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dennis Kirby; daughter Sharon (Troy) and their two children; son John (Theresa) and their three children; daughter Kera (Derek) and their three children; and three siblings: Sandra Pusczewicz, Teddy Pusczewicz, and David Pusczewicz (Donna).

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 10 at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank all those who were there for Kitty during life’s finest moments and when things became more challenging.
