Shawn T. Garrow, 65

Shawn Timothy Garrow, 65, of St. Mary, died of natural causes, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at his home in St. Mary.

Survivors include son Casey (Jessica) and granddaughter Amorette of Kalispell; daughter Lindsay and Granddaughters Mikell, Raylynn and Sierra of Browning; brother Steve of St. Mary and sister Susan Garrow Johnson of Columbia Falls and numerous cousins spread around the U.S.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Marion Garrow, and ex-wife Carol Roundine.

Shawn was born Jan. 30, 1956, in Browning and attended schools there until he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1973. He served his military time in Camp Pendleton, California, Nairobi, Kenya and Trenton, Michigan until his discharge in 1981. He was hired in June 1982

at the St. Mary Ranger Station in Glacier National Park in the Maintenance Department until he

left in 2012.

Shawn loved to entertain folks on his steel guitar, though he couldn’t read music, his tunes were from playing by ear. For many summers he hosted a barbecue on Thursday nights, usually the menu was a brisket or ribs and a giant frying pan of fried potatoes.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held this summer at St. Mary.

Foster’s Funeral Home in St. Ignatius is handling the arrangements.
