Easter egg hunts, activities abound in the Flathead

Spring has sprung and is bringing a basketful of fun and family-friendly events to the Flathead this weekend. Here’s a look at what’s happening around the valley:

EASTER EGG HUNTS

SATURDAY

• Marion Fire District hosts its fifth annual Easter event from 9 to 11 a.m. Come by for a hot breakfast and to meet the Easter Bunny. The Easter egg hunt for kids starts at 10:30 a.m. sharp.

• Healthy Beginnings Pediatric Therapy is hosting an All-Inclusive Easter egg hunt for kids with varying needs and abilities. Sensory-friendly, wheelchair and low-vision accessible from 10 a.m. to noon in the Cedar Palace Medical Center parking lot.

Bring your baskets to collect Easter eggs (non-edible, sensory-friendly fillings).

• Bigfork Masonic Lodge is sponsoring an Easter egg hunt at Bigfork Elementary School. The hunt will begin at noon and conclude once the 70 dozen eggs have been found.

Bigfork Elementary School is located at 600 Commerce St. in Bigfork.

• The Springs at Whitefish hosts an Easter party from noon to 2 p.m. Get pictures with the Easter Bunny from noon to 1 p.m. The Easter egg hunt for children 10 and under starts at 1 p.m.

The Springs is located at 1001 River Lakes Parkway.

• The Living Church at Lakeside invites families to its Community Easter egg hunt at 2 p.m. at Volunteer Park in Lakeside. Kids in fifth grade and younger are welcome to the free event.

SUNDAY

• Blacktail Mountain Ski Area invites kids of all ages to its Bunny Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A Blacktail Bunny egg hunt takes place at 12:30 p.m.

• Kalispell Elks Lodge will hold its annual (except last year) Easter egg hunt at noon at Lions Park. The event is open to the public and everyone is welcome.

Lions Park is located on the east side of U.S. 93 South, across from the Hilton Garden Inn. This is a fast-moving event so be sure to be there on time.

• Columbia Falls Lions Club will hold its annual Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. at Marantette Park. The event, which is children up to age 12, goes off promptly at 1 p.m. so don’t be late.

• The Exchange Station community ministry invites children to join its free Easter egg hunt from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for ages 1 to 5 and 6 to 10. The Easter resurrection story will be told using a special set of eggs following the hunt. The Exchange Station is located at 51 W. Reserve Drive, Kalispell.

OTHER EVENTS

• Brash Rodeo, Montana longest running series open rodeo, gets under way from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Majestic Valley Arena, Kalispell, featuring saddle bronc, ranch bronc, bareback, bull riding, chute dogging, team roping and breakaways.

A kids egg hunt will take place Saturday. Over 2,000 eggs with toys and prizes and 18 grand prizes will be given away.

• Flathead Valley Flow Arts Collective is holding a Flow Party for all flow art styles from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Depot Park in Kalispell. Enjoy music and flow dance. Weekly sessions are planned starting this month.

• Stumptown Art Studio in downtown Whitefish is having a free, family-friendly drop-in Easter craft event from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. No registration is needed; donations and all ages welcomed.

• Sacred Waters Brewing Company in Kalispell is having a family-friendly Easter Sunday Funday from noon to 8 p.m. Enjoy craft beer, food concessions, and Easter eggs filled with goodies on the outdoor patio.
