Law roundup: Father upset by transient thrown to ground
A concerned father told Kalispell Police Department he was upset that a motel employee allegedly threw a transient to the ground and told him to “get out of here” in front of his 5-year-old child.
A man, who was wearing a hat, hood, and carrying a blanket raised someone’s suspicions because he was standing there and staring at the sky. The person told officers something didn’t seem right about the situation and while he was not doing anything illegal they thought a drive-by was warranted.
Someone’s son was driving on U.S. 2 and was allegedly being followed by a white Prius and an older red Toyota truck, which made him uneasy. When he turned around at a gas station trying to lose them the vehicles reportedly tried to block the road as he attempted to leave. The vehicles continued to follow him back on U.S. 2 and eventually stopped when he turned off the road.
A man stole hot food from a grocery store deli. The man received a citation for theft and was dropped off at the mall.
Someone requested a welfare check on children in an apartment claiming the residence was unfit for the young children living there because it “smelled like a garbage can,” one of the children was peeing on the bathroom floor, there was hair in the sink a child cut off her own head a month ago and there was food smashed into the floor.
Someone thought a vehicle reportedly being followed by a reckless driver needed help.
A woman found an “odd” note on her vehicle and wanted an officer to look at it.
Someone complained the drivers of four to five trucks were reportedly being obnoxious, unsafe, and were “burning rubber,” and revving engines on U.S. 2.
