Robert 'Bob C' Anthony Cesnik, 83

| May 16, 2021 12:00 AM

Robert “Bob C” Anthony Cesnik, of Roundup, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, on March 23, 2021. He was 83.

Bob was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Nov. 2, 1937, to John and Mary (Tomsic) Cesnik. He spent the first part of his life in Ohio helping his parents in their taverns. Bob attended Western Military School in Alton, Illinois, enlisting in the U.S. Army after graduation. He spent much of his time in the military stationed in Puerto Rico as part of the 542nd Military Police Unit. He was honorably discharged, and often wished he had stayed in the army.

After serving his country, Bob returned to Cleveland and resumed his civilian life as an entrepreneur, working in sales and managing his own rental properties. He obtained a job selling Kirby Vacuum cleaners, and at different times he was also successful working for OshKosh Clothing and Clairol Beauty Products. Around this time, he met and married Linda Serwatka. They settled together in Cleveland. It was there that their two children, Cassie and Gunner, were born. When his wife Linda passed away, he needed a fresh start. So, Bob moved his two kids out West and settled in Kalispell where he spent another 35-plus years.

Bob was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and trapshooting. He especially enjoyed traveling to the warmer Southern states. Later in life, he would shoot the state shoots for the entertainment and camaraderie with the other shooters. He also loved his Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. He spent many happy vacations in his later years on the beaches of Puerto Rico, where he indulged his love of fine food and coffee and went for swims in the ocean.

Bob loved his country, and was passionate about politics, and worried about the direction of his country. He didn’t mince words about having “no use for liberals and how they were ruining this Great Country.”

It should also be noted that Bob was a committed member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and spent 40 years in sobriety without a single relapse. He did everything he could to encourage others to follow the path of Bill Wilson’s philosophy. It’s never too late to get help.

Bob is survived by his daughter Cassandra Tedrick and her husband Shawn, of Kalispell, and his son, Robert Jr. “Gunner” and his wife Kristen (Hutchison) of Billings. He also had three grandchildren, Brett Tedrick, Jacob Cesnik and Grace Cesnik. He also considered Joel Hewitt and Todd Frownfelter to be like his own sons and valued their families as his own.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Mary and John Cesnik, and his wife Linda Serwatka Cesnik.

A celebration of his life will be held in Roundup at a time and place to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Bob’s honor to the National Rifle Association or the Gary Sinise Foundation.
