Holden, Kernan lead AA Lakers over I. Falls
BELGRADE — Max Holden threw five shutout innings and Danny Kernan drove in four runs in the Kalispell AA Lakers’ 11-0 win over Idaho Falls in American Legion baseball Saturday.
Kalispell (15-3) is playing in the Belgrade Quad Series; the Lakers were up on the Belgrade Bandits 4-0 at press time Saturday.
Holden allowed just two hits and walked no one for the Lakers. He struck out five. Kernan had a double and a triple among his three hits.
Ethan Diede got the Lakers on the board with a two-out RBI single in the second inning.
Kernan’s 2-run triple keyed a big third inning, when Kalispell struck for six runs, Grady Drish had a bases-loaded squeeze bunt later in the frame, before Idaho Falls issued a walk sandwiched between two hit batters to help the Lakers to a 7-0 lead.
Elijah Owens added an RBI single in the fourth and Kernan’s 2-run double in the fifth ended the game under the mercy rule.
