WHS Drama Club stages ‘Twelve Angry Jurors’
Whitefish High School Drama Club will be staging a production of the classic drama “Twelve Angry Jurors” today, and Nov. 5 and 6 at the Black Box Theatre at the high school.
Twelve jurors deliberate the the guilt or innocence of a young man accused of murder. As tempers flare, disagreements ensue inside the small room where the jurors are convened. Will the jurors find the man guilty and send him to his death or will they revisit the evidence and vote for acquittal?
The classic play and its themes of class, bigotry and justice remains relevant even today.
“The students were beholden to the script from the first time we read it and seemed to really understand the importance and weight of the jurors’ responsibility of deciding a man’s guilt or innocence and therefore his fate,” said Scarlett Schindler, the WHS drama coach who directed the show with co-coach Karla Scrafford. “These kids are sensitive and bright and that makes them terrific actors. They really know how to tell a story.”
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults.
