No. 28156 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PUBLIC HEARING A combined hearing will be held by the City of Kalispell, Flathead County, NeighborWorks Montana, Northwest Montana Community Land Trust, Inc., Samaritan House, Inc., Montana West Economic Development, Logan Health, and Flathead Valley Community College at 1:00 p.m., November 18, 2021 in the Kalispell City Council Chambers located in the Kalispell City Hall at 201 First Avenue East, Kalispell, MT 59901. The public can participate in person in the council chambers or via videoconferencing. The purpose of this hearing is to obtain the views of community residents, especially low/moderate income residents, regarding community development needs and priorities of the City of Kalispell and Flathead County for economic development, housing and neighborhood revitalization and public facilities. The CDBG program is administered by the State of Montana Department of Commerce and will make available to eligible local governments funding for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefiting low/moderate income persons. The hearing will provide further information about the CDBG program and will allow for citizen participation in the development of any proposed grant applications. The City of Kalispell and Flathead County are eligible to submit an application to the Montana Department of Commerce for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and/or a Montana Home Investment Partnership Program Grant (HOME). These entities along with their project partners wish to obtain public comment on the needs of the community. The purpose of the grant programs and the variety of activities eligible for funding will be fully described. During the public hearing, everyone will be given the opportunity to express their opinions regarding community needs and the type of projects that should be considered. Comments may be given orally at the hearing or by mail to City of Kalispell Development Services, 201 1st Avenue East, Kalispell, Montana 59901 or by email CDBG@kalispell.com before 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
