FHS Theatre presents magical, comic adventure for young audiences
With the help of a magical storyteller and a little imagination, the ordinary becomes the extraordinary in Flathead High School Theatre Department’s presentation of “The Brave Little Tailor” Nov. 17 and 18 at 6:27 p.m. in the David M. Hashley Theatre at FHS.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, students and senior citizens and are available in the FHS main office as well as Photo Video Plus. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.
While playing in his grandmother's attic, a young boy named Chris receives a visit from a mysterious storyteller and his helpful elves. As the storyteller begins to spin a tale, he sends Chris into the story as the brave little tailor himself. At first, Chris doesn't feel very brave, but as he encounters a host of magical beings through the adventure, Chris finds his footing and his voice.
“‘The Brave Little Tailor’ is about overcoming challenges and finding one's courage. At first, Chris does not believe in himself, but with assistance from his trusted companions Kee and Ara, he is able to take the audience on a grand adventure,” director Wendy Putzler said.
This version of the classic “Brave Little Tailor” tale reimagined by playwright Randy Wyatt includes humor, imagination and some audience participation. The furniture of grandmother's attic becomes all of the locales in this comic adventure for young audiences. With the help of the Storyteller and his elves, the young audiences will cheer on the heroes, make sound effects and help the Brave Little Tailor gain his courage.”
This production of “The Brave Little Tailor” is presented by the Acting 3 directing and design class at FHS.
