Bravettes finish 5th at volleyball state tournament
BOZEMAN — The Flathead Bravettes kept their season alive Friday with a consolation round win against conference rival Butte but fell to Billings Senior later in the day to end their season with a 5th place finish at the AA state tournament.
Glacier ended its season with a four-set loss to Missoula Sentinel Friday afternoon. Sentinel beat Bozeman and then lost to Billings Senior in the 4th place game.
C.M. Russell punched its ticket to the title game with a win over West. The Golden Bears will take on Senior in a 10 a.m. game this morning, that will determine which team gets to the chipper.
In Class A, Havre bested Polson to advance to the final. But the Pirates could have a rematch with Havre if they beat Billings Central in the 3rd place game today, which gets going at 10 a.m.
Class B’s Huntley Project is in the final for the 13th consecutive season after beating Townsend in an unbeaten semi, but still awaits an opponent. Jefferson and Choteau were still battling it out in the 4th place game as of press time. The winner plays Townsend at 10 a.m. today.
Also at 10 a.m. today is the 3rd place match to determine who will face Plentywood in the Class C final. It will be either Manhattan Christian or White Sulphur Springs, who knocked off Bridger and Roy-Winifred on Friday.
The all-class state tournament concludes today, with all final games starting at noon.
