Light Up Evergreen is annual holiday favorite

| November 21, 2021 12:00 AM

The traditional Light Up Evergreen tree lighting will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23. That’s when Harmon Crane does the time-honored flipping of the switch to light up the tree high in the sky in Evergreen, atop of a crane. The ceremonial event launches the holiday season into full gear in Evergreen.

Pie auction is a trip to Flavor Town

After a virtual format last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the popular pie auction is back on track as a live event this year, from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, at The Hardware Store, 2148 U.S. 2 in Evergreen. The pie-mania follows the tree-lighting ceremony.

All proceeds from the pie auction will benefit local food pantries.

There will be an appetizer and beverage bar.

For more information or to donate pies call Evergreen Chamber Director Connie McCubbins at 406-885-1212 or email director@evergreencofc.com.

Holiday Gathering awards night planned Dec. 9

The annual Holiday Gathering also returns this year as a live event, planned Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Kalispell. This is an awards night for Evergreen Chamber of Commerce members, with the Brent Hall Award presentation.

The Brent Hall award is given each year to recognize and celebrate the qualities of a Flathead Valley icon who made the Evergreen community his business home for four decades. Brent Hall leaves a rich and textured legacy of giving and volunteer, The Brent Hall Award recognizes the qualities that were naturally part of Brent, and that we all should strive to embody: a spirit of giving, community and business leadership, volunteerism, advocacy for those in need of a voice, and supportive of those who needed a hand.
