Stephen R. Garrow, 72

Steve Garrow, 72, of St. Mary, Montana, passed away July 27, 2021, at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell. The cause of death was cancer.

Steve was born in Browning on July 24, 1949, to Robert and Marion Garrow. He graduated from Browning High School in 1967, attended Northern Montana College for a short time until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. His military time was February 1969 through January 1973 where he served on a river patrol boat in Vietnam and at time of his discharge he was stationed on the USS Shelton. After his military time, he worked with our dad in the concrete/gravel business in Browning, several highway projects throughout Montana, and spent some time in Anchorage, Alaska, working construction projects on golf courses. In 1987, he was hired at Glacier National Park in the Maintenance Department until he retired in summer of 2004.

Steve split his time the last few years living the summer months at his home on Lower St. Mary Lake and winter months in Rincon de Guayabitos, Mexico.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marion Garrow, and his younger brother Shawn.

Survivors include his sister, Susan Garrow Johnson, of Columbia Falls; nephew, Casey Garrow (Jessica); great-niece, Amorette, of Kalispell; niece, Lindsay Garrow; great-nieces, Mikelt, Raylynn and Sierra, of Browning; and numerous cousins

spread through the U.S.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held July 2022 at the Garrows’ on Lower St. Mary Lake.
